He'd speak about that.
But as Rafa, it was always football.
Now, to be honest, it didn't bother me one bit, that Rafa Benitez.
I think in the six years I was there, to be honest, I don't think Benitez ever came in and said they had a great game after the game or a few days later.
That's the way he was.
And he was always pushing people and striving to make them better.
But as a defender, it doesn't bother you.
I think sometimes the attacking players maybe needed that little bit more love.
They may say when you hear them come out and speak about it.
But Rafa Benitez is one of the most successful managers in Europe of his era, certainly probably when he was at Liverpool and then he went to Inter Milan and Valencia, managed Real Madrid also.
So I look at that and think, well, Rafa Benitez doesn't need to change.
Maybe the players he's got need maybe to adapt to him if they're not happy with their relationship because he's the one who's winning the big trophies all over Europe.
And the biggest thing Rafa did for me was he picked me every week.
He put me back into my best position.
I hadn't played there for four or five years under Gerard Julien.
I'd been at full-back.
I was a good fullback.
I wasn't great.
But him putting me there and also learning off Rafa as well.
I think he's brilliant if you're a defender or you're part of a back four.
