And we just fell short.
I think a little bit of it was financial, that we couldn't match you the top two.
And I think at the end of Rafa's time, you thought, well, if we haven't won the league with that manager and that team, how are we ever going to win the league, Liverpool?
And I think the feeling was it almost needed a Roman Abramovich or a Schickman to come into the club to really push it on to the next level.
Now,
Obviously, there was an ownership issue with Tom Hicks and George Gillette, but I'm taking it more to what's happening right now.
And that's why I think the job JΓΌrgen Klopp done is absolutely outstanding in that he's probably been in a similar boat to Rafa in some ways in that.
I don't feel Liverpool still have maybe the revenue to match Manchester United or maybe Manchester City.
I know people point at Van Dijk and the goalkeeper, Alisson, but a lot of their fees come on the back of Coutinho going, which I think was about Β£120-130 million.

And it's thrown at me a little bit on social media as well, that me and Stevie or whoever else was at Liverpool, we never won the league, but...
I am quite proud of what we achieved in that 10 years from 2000 to I think 2010 when Rafa went because the competition was so tough and I still think that was the best era for English teams or Premier League teams in the Champions League where we dominated the Champions League for four or five seasons and that was the biggest problem for us that we were one of the best teams in Europe but the other best teams in Europe were in the league that we played in and probably stopped us winning at Premier League.
Well, it always comes up that Rafa's relationship with players because he's seen as a cold character.
He's not somebody who wants to know what's going on off the pitch.
Whereas Gerrard Hulier would be talking about what were you doing off the pitch in terms of someone going for a drink
You knew your wife's name, your kids.
