Because there's already a rink there that the Canucks don't use.
So if they're taking a chunk of it, it's going down rather than adding to it.
And before we get out of here, I do just want to draw, like, a direct analogy between the practice rank thing and the rebuild.
Because you look at the, again, there's been the debate about whether we have one sheet of ice or two sheets.
And you look at the site, and I just keep looking at it, and there is clearly room for
on the site, when you take into account the big surface parking lot there, to do a really special project.
And I think it would have a lot of, there's a lot of potential because of the location, the history there, to do something that is incredible for the Canucks and incredible for the community and really does strengthen that tie between fans and the community and the team.
if everyone involved has the vision and the willingness to do it, right?
And I think that's exactly how you could describe the situation the Canucks find themselves entering a rebuild.
As much as it sucks to be here, there's also an opportunity to do something really special if everyone has the vision and the patience necessary
and whatever else necessary to get that done.
And I hope in both cases that the good side comes to fruition here, but there's also, whether it's the practice rink or the rebuild itself, there's also a chance that it gets rushed, that corners get cut, and you end up with something that's kind of half-baked.
And so I really do think there is a meaningful analogy between those two things, and again, hopefully the better path is taken there.
Lineup notes, nothing to mention here.
Day off for the team today.
They will host L.A.
in their final home game.
I think you had us covered with the Chamber of Horrors stats for the day, Drance, for the regulation win.
So we're all good there.
