at a time and also I think it's also because he's been so integral to the All Blacks ever since he started and he's we're so desperate to have a presence there that was the same as Aaron Smith as in like a guy who's just like okay you're the first guy on the team sheet at halfback that we haven't really seen a lot out of perhaps Hotham at test level

I would say he's playing pretty bloody well for the Crusaders this year.

If he is on the field in either of those positions and there's a yellow card or a 20-minute red card, he can fill a gap.

And I think that that's something that people maybe, when we talk about these hybrid players, people aren't sort of understanding is the ability to adjust to being a man down midfield.

on the field, especially if you've got a defensive scrum.

To be able to bring a guy in from the midfield or in from the wing and chuck him on a flanker and actually bolster your scrum enough that you've got the same power you had as someone who should have been there in the first place, that's a really valuable thing.

So I think that there's these little things along the way that Leicester can bring.

Is he going to bring them in a test match against the Springboks?

Yeah, I do think so, especially that test against Italy.
