All right, Andrew, it is time for the Wheel of Fandom, the weekly segment where we spin a wheel, it lands on a team, and we become fans of that team for the next week.
Three weeks ago, the wheel landed on the San Antonio Spurs, who had a pretty eventful couple of weeks.
Over those three weeks, the Spurs went 7-4, which doesn't make this stretch sound as good as it should, considering those seven wins included two beatdowns of the Oklahoma City Thunder, bringing the season series to 3-0, a two-point win over the New York Knicks, where Julian Champagny scored 33,
36 and a dominant win over the Lakers on Wednesday night.
Victor Wiminyama missed another two games this week due to a bone bruise, but returned for their last two on a minutes restriction, which prevented him from going back into what became a one point loss to the Grizzlies per cleaning the glass.
The 26 and 11 Spurs had the eighth ranked offense and seventh ranked defense.
Andrew, if the Spurs are a favorite team, who is our guest?
So those wins over OKC, they were so dominant that seeing the Spurs then go three and four in their next seven was a little surprising.
For fans who may have only watched them destroy OKC and look unbeatable, what are some of the weaknesses of this team, especially when they're fully healthy, that have cropped up in some of these losses?
Speaking of Dylan Harper, he had a really good start to his rookie career.
Perkley in the glass, he takes 54% of his shots at the rim, which is the second highest percentage in the league among players at his position.
The shooting obviously has a ways to go, but the flash is already crazy.
Other than shooting, what would you say are the most obvious areas of development that are needed for him to reach his eventual ceiling?
That must have been so awesome, though, that moment where you realized, oh, this rabbit hole is actually...
Worth digging into.
There's really actually something there.
Well, Jared, thank you for answering all of our Spurs-related questions.
But it is now time to play Andrew versus the B. Our weekly trivia show where Andrew goes head-to-head against an NBA B-rider.
This week, Jared Weiss on the side of the O.D.O.
