So you get that opportunity, though, and think Romans 6, or there's numerous passages where
about you can give your life up.
You can give your life to him.
And these religious people start saying, well, I don't know if you have to do that.
I don't know.
And I'm like, it is infuriating to me.
Where some debate came up about whether you should do that or not.
Or what if you don't?
And all these questions.
And I'm like...
Wait a minute.
I've been given the opportunity to participate in God's love, which the definition is giving your life up.
That's why I read those verses where it says, live a life of love as Jesus loved us, who gave himself up for us.
So you hear the story of Jesus, and you're like, I want to give my life to him.
And you go up to the pastor, and he's like, well, you don't have to do that.
Well, no, he wouldn't say that.
But when you read the Bible for what it says, you have an opportunity to do this.
And that's why I think he chose to do that, where you literally humble yourself and say, yeah, I'm reenacting this in water.
I'm going to die so that I can live, which is what Jesus did for all of us.
That's exactly how he defined love.
