Yeah. No, you don't shut up. All right. You shut up.
Yeah, yeah. Holy smoke, Dr. Jones. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
A white dude and an Asian dude. You two are disgusting. You two are something. We're bad friends.
This is a room filled with God. No, no.
Oh, why? Because I have eyeballs. Because I have eyeballs. Look at that way. You know what I mean? It's crazy. It's crazy talk. Have you had that? You want me to walk like this, bitch? Come on. Yeah. I hate it. It's so dumb. It's like you haven't checked in with me. You're not my parole officer. I'm not a criminal. I haven't done shit, bitch. Sorry. Kindergarten. That's what it was.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kindergarten. Sorry. Let it out. Sorry, sorry. Kindergarten.
Oh, really? Last night you were on the boat. We were on the boat together last night. I was like, we're not fucking on the boat anymore. What happened? You jumped overboard? No. Oh, my God.
Um, where have I seen him? I saw him at the hilarious party.
That doesn't make me uncomfortable at all.
I gotta think about it. I love you, I love you.
Hey, it's Jasmine. This podcast is brought to you by Q&A Network. Today on our first episode, we are just kind of introducing ourselves and jumping into our friendship, kind of like how we met, and a little bit about social media. We hope y'all enjoy. I'm Kelsey. I'm Jasmine. I'm Valerie. And I'm Ariel.
You can make money on social media. She's like, you can make money. Just start posting. Like, just post this right now. I'm like, okay. So we're actually going to do a full episode on monetizing social media. Wow. Yes, how it's so life-changing. All the ways that we personally monetize social media.
Facebook pays more than TikTok. Literally, Facebook pays more than TikTok. And Snapchat pays more than both. I suck at Snapchat, though.
This week I've been slacking just because it's been so crazy, but I try my best. I try to post quite a bit on there. I think I'm up to like 15,000 followers or 16,000. I haven't even looked.
You need $50,000 to get monetized. So I'm not making money on there now. Yeah, but you won't. I did have a spotlight go viral, though, and I feel like I got a lot of followers off of that. I think I saw that. It was Josh. When it was snowing, he was- Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah. I had originally texted Val, and she really didn't just give me an answer. She just kind of ignored me about it.
Yeah, that video went viral. It did really good. But yeah, no, we're going to have a whole episode just kind of like on ways we personally monetize social media and the things that we know. There is no step-by-step guide on how to get followers or how to go viral.
It's getting out of your comfort zone. Yes, you have to get out of your comfort zone. You have to be willing to deal with hate. You have to be willing. But you also have to be real. Oh, yeah.
You have to be yourself. If you get on the internet and you are trying to be someone you're not, it's not going to stick. Because it's going to be so hard to keep up with that. You just have to be who you are.
But yeah, no, we will definitely have an episode on that. And hopefully it'll help some of y'all out. But no, there is definitely money to be made on social media. And that's why I push everybody. I am a girl's girl. And if I can tell you something about social media, I will. And I don't know if you want to share it. If not, tell them, cut it. But on that fact,
Just carried on our conversation about everything else and never gave me an answer. She's a busy mom. Yeah, yeah. I'll let it slide. And then she, no, a couple weeks later.
One of the... Early on in mine and Valerie's friendship, we were at the Jelly Roll concert. Mm-hmm. Sitting there eating dinner. Mahoney's. Josh's. Chicken wings. But we... You know, like, you don't really discuss money with people, right? That's just something you don't really talk about. Well, I feel like whenever you're doing social media, it can be a little different.
Especially, like, you know, if you become close with someone. Because, like... Especially if two friends don't know nothing about social media, you're going to try to share what we know, right?
Yes, me and Valerie were sitting at dinner and I was like, Valerie, what are you charging for one?
I was like, what are you charging for one partnership? And she was like, such and such. And I was like, absolutely not. You have more followers than me and this is what I am charging? You should be charging this.
Same thing with a few others. So, actually, I'm sure if any content creators are watching this, y'all know, but for people that are not content creators, a lot of... Not a lot of times, but sometimes, I feel like at least once a month it happens, a company will, like, send one email to, like, a hundred people. Yep.
maybe even a month later i was like it was gonna be you and josh wait i was trying to talk him into it and he said no yeah so then i text them in the group chat and i was like look i am doing this do y'all want to be a part of it and they were like yeah absolutely why not here we are yeah and it was like two days later jess was like here sign this on this oh it was like that we're like i haven't even had pick a day to film pick a day to film read nothing
And people that, like... I sort of know on social media like that. I have interacted with some. I've had conversations with. They accidentally responded to the email and was like, yeah, I'll do it for such and such. I instantly messaged them and I was like, you are lowballing yourself. You need to triple your price. If you can help somebody, help them.
Yeah. Social media is so big. It has room for everyone.
And they had millions of followers and I'm like, I've never seen this person before.
Yeah, for sure. It's definitely... Social media is crazy. I never knew you could make a dollar from social media. When I made my first TikTok, literally, I was doing it for fun. Yeah. I had no idea what social media could do. If I knew what I knew now, if I knew then what I knew now... I would have started that shit a long time ago.
If you are starting social media, start all of your platforms at one time. Please, just do yourself a favor.
But they pay the most out of all the platforms.
They pay more than Snapchat. But, yeah, I hated TikTok. I did. Josh had it. So we lived in North Dakota in 2020 whenever the pandemic hit. And Josh downloaded it and he scrolled. He scrolled for like a year. I didn't get TikTok until the very end of 21. Yeah. And I didn't really become consistent until the very beginning of either the end, the very end, like Christmas time of 21 or the beginning.
of 22. I know the first time I went live was March of 22. But were you nervous?
Well, the only reason I remember it is because.
Oh, that was me for the longest time. I felt like I was talking to myself. Yeah. But consistency. Yes, consistency.
Literally talking to yourself. The only reason I know that is because we were talking about it the other day on live and Josh went back in his camera roll. He had took a picture of me or something the first time I went live. And I think he sent it to his sister or something. It was like, go get on Jazz's live or something. I don't know. He brought it up. So that's how I knew it was March of 22.
I think it's going to be fun. Yeah, for sure. We're winging it. We are. We are. So I'm a mom of two girls. I have a husband. His name is Josh. We have traveled across the country for eight years. We just settled down and bought a house this past October. And just a coincidence. Next to me. Yep, next to Ariel. But just a little coincidence. We all live practically in the same little area.
If you're just sitting there looking at the screen, it's like, oh, yeah. Like, I'm boring myself. I know I'm boring y'all.
Oh, for sure. Josh was like, you know, if you didn't go live, you could get things done so much faster.
And just FYI, you don't make much money from live. So, no, we don't get anything out of going live.
A few times I have made a couple hundred bucks, but like they would send me like a lion. Don't brag. I'm not. Oh, yeah. She's bragging. I'm just being honest. But that's only happened like three or four times.
Run. Act like a lion's behind you. Run. But no, yeah. I mean, TikTok's great.
Yeah, it is. It's crazy how far we've came and how close our relationship has grown. Like, just from social media. Because, like, you know, Ariel just said, I wouldn't know Valerie if it wasn't for TikTok. Yeah. And we're practically from the same town.
We forget to make content. We forget to make content because we're too busy. We're in the moment, enjoying it. I tell y'all what.
saved a sound i don't want to say the first time but the one of the only times i can remember is saved a sound and actually made a tiktok was this past christmas party at my house yeah we and we purposely were like y'all we have to actually make content this time like i was like we have no kids we are doing a video never make videos never we'll start one you got like three seconds of it i have so many videos in my drafts of us hanging out and we start something and then it's just it never finishes
Not like if we go on a girl's trip or something, I'll try to make like a video over the whole entire weekend.
But as far as just getting together and doing sounds and making. We don't get together to make content.
We're not far from each other. The furthest... It's Kelsey. 45 minutes to an hour.
Like... Yeah, her and Josh's. Yeah, for sure. They could... I tell Josh all the time, I'm like, do you realize, like, you could legit retire?
Josh, he doesn't care if it hurts your feelings.
He doesn't care what you think about him. It's coming off of his tongue.
They're going to find them some land eventually and they're going to move on over. And me and Valerie, we actually met on social media. So Kelsey and Ariel, I know in real life. Yep. That's so weird to say.
It's just an illusion, okay? We're not here. Y'all know what I mean. Like, I knew them not from social media. Me and Val met, and just so happened, we're, like, from the same general area. So that kind of worked out. And now look at us.
Well, we went to dinner. It was the first time we met.
Yep, in Hammond. So I think we were mutuals on social, like on TikTok. But I don't think we ever really talked a lot.
Three, two... Oh my gosh, all four. Are we live? Yeah, are we live? Tap, tap, tap. That was going to be our name. Moms on Tap. Moms on Tap. That was the name we were going to go with. Yeah. That was going to be our second name.
Yeah. Yeah. But, so I was repping for her. Valerie was repping for her. We kind of met up for dinner. And then it started.
Just us four. And then my husband and Kelsey's husband, both of their names are Josh, they started working together like seven or eight years ago, a long time ago. Like Ella was an infant. So that's how I met Kelsey. And same thing with Ariel, my husband and her husband.
She gets us in trouble with the shot. Look, I will easily run up a $500 or $700 tab on shots.
Yeah. I mean, if it's a nasty shot, I might sip it. But if it's like a lemon drop or a white tea. Yeah, something good. If it's good, I'll down it. Unless it's like one of those huge ones. I was just about to say, they make shots these days that are the size of a glass. If it's one of those huge ones, no. I'm taking it in two parts. Right.
And you feel, you know, like, obviously you can kind of, like, feel the energy. Like, you know who is real and who is fake. For sure.
Yeah, and it's so crazy because, like, this whole entire time, we've not had one disagreement. Never.
Well, because I had one in my closet, the pink one.
Yeah, Moms on Court was taken, so we couldn't do that. Moms on Tap was going to be our second. For the moms just kind of stuck out because we're for moms. And y'all, just because that's the name for the moms. It's not just for moms.
Kelsey and Josh, they literally have one of each. Charlie is Josh's twin and Whitley.
That camping trip will be a whole episode.
Yeah, there's no telling what's going to come up. I mean, it's not that bad, but we are a little unfiltered. So watch carefully.
Me and you? Y'all. Yeah. The first time I met them. And it didn't feel awkward or anything. It just felt like we've been knowing them forever. The first time I met them...
Jasmine mixed it with water first. Of course. What did I tell y'all? What did I tell y'all? Hey, Abby is complaining with her throat hurting. Is she in school? Yeah, she's at school. Is that her teacher? Yep.
So I am Jasmine. If y'all follow me on social media, you probably know me as Traveling Mama of Two. It was kind of my idea to start the podcast. I wanted to do it. I begged my husband to do it with me and he was like, Jasmine, no. Like, what are we going to talk about? Yeah. He was like, I'll do an episode with you, but I'm not doing a whole podcast. So then we're all here against our will.
They just said that they were super. Yeah, she was negative for strep. They said she was super enlarged. More than likely needs her tonsils out. We got to go back Monday. Oh, okay. So there's that. But she's on antibiotics, right? She finished antibiotics. She's on steroids now. Oh, okay. She'll be fine. Yeah. Okay.
That is true. Not having help was very, very hard.
I feel like just any little bit of alone time is crucial. Literally. And people are like, oh, you want to dump your kids off all the time?
Yes. I would go lock myself in my bathroom, like in my house, just for like five minutes of like just a long time.
And they never will. And they shouldn't.
So quite a few nights when Eric was on the road in Texas, like, he had never traveled before, right? And then the last two years, he was gone Monday through Friday. Y'all, I don't know how I said it.
I thank y'all's friendship, really, because that was right around the time where I started becoming friends with y'all, and we were talking every night through our group chat, and, like, I didn't feel as alone, you know? So that really, like, y'all, I'm about to cry. Like, y'all really helped, and I'm really grateful for that.
You still have to be you. I feel like that's hard, though, because we do... Every mom does it, right? You get lost in motherhood. Oh, for sure.
yep for sure she went and got a deep tissue massage yeah i did i did it was so good oh when are we getting our facials i know that's not part of like we need that she's back full time okay we need that so yeah book the spa appointment book the nail appointment yeah sit in your car you can sit in your car eat you a crab leg or something you know
Yeah, everybody is. Everybody is. It's not. It's a never-ending journey. It's rough.
My kids are grown and moved out. Yeah, we're going to look back at this time and laugh. Yeah. But while you're in the trenches, it feels like it's never going to end. Yeah.
We will be safe, I promise. But y'all tune in. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Because I feel like nobody laughed at her when she was at rock bottom.
Change. But going back, I feel like it's important not to keep that toxicity in your life. Like that's a good, you know.
But overnight, yeah. But that's also probably why she's so attached to you. Yeah. Because it was her and mom, you know, for so long.
Okay. Jamie wants to know, as a mom that seems to have lost herself in motherhood, I'd love to hear how y'all find things you like again after becoming a mom. So I guess kind of how we found ourselves again after like that whole postpartum craziness. Yeah.
Yeah. My friends helped me find myself.
So if I have like my insurance bill, for example, comes out on the on the second, that's before the payday in November. That's right. Would I take that?
Hi, Rachel. Hi, John. How are you guys?
Doing great. How can we help? I have a budgeting question. So right now with the holidays coming up and in my life, all the birthdays just pop up from September to December. Um, but I'm also in baby step two. So I'm really just trying to, my question is how do I budget for stuff like that? If I know it should be good down intensity.
So I don't know if I shouldn't be putting my, my thoughts into that and just not, not be budgeting for it or at all. So I'm not really entirely sure what to do. Um, yeah, I'm 32,000 in debt and I make around 70. I don't, I don't pay any rent or anything like that. Like I live at my home. Um, I started using the EveryDollar app last September.
No, it was just my brother-in-law, my boyfriend, my stepmom, my best friend. And then Christmas, it would be just, we're doing a secret Santa for Christmas. So I normally, that's fine that I'll just do the secret Santa, but I have like three secret Santas I'm a part of. Whether that's at work and my group of friends at work or like my boyfriend and I exchange gifts or...
At my house, we're doing a Secret Santa, but then I always end up, I'm like, oh, I really feel bad not getting this person something or they got me something. It's like, I also have, okay, we have church events that I want to go to. Like, okay, can I get my hair done? Stuff like that. And unfortunately, my hair is not cheap.
I had to think of, I had to cut out a lot of things and I just feel guilty. I feel like I, am I doing the right thing?
I'm 22.
And I have one more. I'm sorry that I'm taking it back. No, it's over here. When I was budgeting, how do I do when there's like five paydays? I get paid every Thursday and for example, October has five Thursdays in the month. Do I treat the last week a part of November or,
or because I'm not sure if I should see it as extra money or that I could put towards my day, obviously, or how do I really view that?
