Big bodied, right-handed guy.

Now, Linus Carlson's 26.

And I don't think I need to tell our listeners how I think about his game.

I think he's really, really good.

And I thought the contract timing was really, really suspect.

But I think he's a nasty player.

And I think there's a real path to him being a significant trade asset for this team.

Even if that might be slightly more complicated as a result of the contract that he signed, the extension that he signed when he signed it.

provided that the club carves out

opportunity for him in a specific area of the power play, which is the net front people.

I think if you put Linus Carlson at the net front of power play one, I think his defensive instincts and two way play in a middle six role will speak for themselves.

But I think if you put him at the net front on power play one, you could really juice his production and get to a point where I'm not saying he's going to get you the Sherwood return, but I, but I think he could get you the Perry return or maybe something in between over the course of the next 24 months.

And that more than setting him up to be a 45 point guy and then signing him at the age of 28 when you're still two years away from competing and he's going to be 31 by the time your best players are just entering their competitive window.

That is the way that Linus Carlsen is likely to help the next great Canucks team.

And by the way, that's good for him too, right?
