You want them to be swinging at strikes at pitches they can handle.
That's just a great pitcher's pitch right there, but it's like, is there an approach?
Is there a team approach?
All these are off-speed pitches with before two strikes.
Why are we not hunting fastballs a little bit more and putting good swings on stuff on fastballs early in the count?
Why are we trying to hit off-speed down in the zone early in the account?
I think we need to do a better job.
It needs to be a hitter's meeting, whether players with a coach.
Someone needs to start speaking up because we know if they cannot capitalize when they get guys on base, that's how they've been losing games.
It's lack of aggression almost sometimes.
It's too much aggression at the wrong pitches.
Probably an out pitch.
That's why I don't mind swinging early, but let's swing at the right pitches.
Obviously, you don't want to get to two strikes because that's where they have the advantage and their swing and miss stuff, but...
It just seems like they're not discussing enough hitting philosophy kind of behind the scenes.
I want them to be as a team, as a unit.
I try to watch an offense as a whole, and can I recognize the approaches that they have?
I can almost piece together what did they talk about before the game and what their philosophy is, and it's like, I can't tell anything about this offense right now.
And I think Pete might command the clubhouse the most.
And again, I'm not trying... I'm rooting for you guys.
