Thousand ways to die.
You've got to be vigilant and mentally on point and fight off the predators and kill the prey and social navigating.
There's so much pressure in nature.
To just live is so much pressure that any moment you can find comfort, you've got to carve it out.
If there's a 35-second moment that you can go, you really have to.
So there's urge for constantly looking to cut corners, find comfort, make it easier, be more efficient.
That's this huge survival instinct.
But that amount, the sensation of that feeling of that urge...
is so strong because it was so hard to get.
Just like our urge for sugar, fat, and salt.
If you're stopping in the woods and you find a Snickers bar, honey, you should eat all of it.
You should eat every apple you see because that's got more calories than a fucking leaf, you know?
And so we have an urge for salt, sugar, and fat.
Yeah.
Well, so like we have these urges for like salt, sugar, fat.
We have an urge for comfort, like a conservation urge.
But that's because that level of drive for it serves us when everything in our world is resistance.
But our world, like our technology took all the resistance away.
And so you can just sit and eat Twix all day.
Oh, it's fake.
