closes on July 26th, it will have played 2,265 performances, making it the 36th longest-running Broadway show of all time.
Using 71 pop songs, the lavish musical opened in July of 2019 and was the first show to close because of the COVID pandemic when several cast members got sick.
It was one of the first Broadway shows to reopen 18 months later and in a shortened season was named Best Musical on the Tony Awards.
There have been 15 productions of the show worldwide.

The opera is called Complications Ensue, and it's been written to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Opera Philadelphia.
The piece looks decade by decade at the life of a character named Sue, played mostly mutely by Justin Vivian Bond.
Michael R. Jackson, who wrote A Strange Loop, says he was excited by the challenge.
The opera features music by Nico Muley, Missy Mazzoli, and Cecile McLaurin-Salvant, among others.
