and evening travel bans in the New York area, the Broadway League, an organization of producers and theater owners, has decided to cancel evening performances.

This affects several shows, including Ann Juliet and Stranger Things, among others.

There's no word yet about Monday performances.

While Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell may be best known for their film roles, both are veteran stage actors, and they played the witty, bickering lovers in London last year to rave reviews and a sold-out theater.

The modern dress production will again be directed by Tony Award winner Jamie Lloyd, whose reimagining of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard was named Best Musical Revival last season.

Shakespeare with big stars has proven a good draw on Broadway.

Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal led a record-breaking revival of Othello recently.

No theater or opening date has been announced for Much Ado About Nothing.

When Moulin Rouge!

closes on July 26th, it will have played 2,265 performances, making it the 36th longest-running Broadway show of all time.

Using 71 pop songs, the lavish musical opened in July of 2019 and was the first show to close because of the COVID pandemic when several cast members got sick.

It was one of the first Broadway shows to reopen 18 months later and in a shortened season was named Best Musical on the Tony Awards.

There have been 15 productions of the show worldwide.

The opera is called Complications Ensue, and it's been written to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Opera Philadelphia.

The piece looks decade by decade at the life of a character named Sue, played mostly mutely by Justin Vivian Bond.

Michael R. Jackson, who wrote A Strange Loop, says he was excited by the challenge.

The opera features music by Nico Muley, Missy Mazzoli, and Cecile McLaurin-Salvant, among others.
