So I, I think it was in the background all of, all of the time, but, um,

Initially, the way into the industry for me was to go to broadcasting school and finish my studies there.

And from there on, I went to TV3 and started working on Sports Tonight in the evenings with Dobbo.

And I walked in there and, G'day, Jeff.

So Dobbo was, so that show was sort of my first introduction to sports.

to uh to the sports media to the sports news side of things and how'd you find it that was good mate like it was the perfect perfect show to work on yeah straight out in fact i wasn't even straight out of broadcasting school i was halfway through my studies so we had a an internship program that we had to link up with tv3 or tvnz or whoever it may have been and i was lucky enough to get a an opportunity to work on sports tonight and i

I was in that environment with some real legends of broadcasting.

And, you know, John Campbell's office was right next door.

And, you know, you'd get to see those guys operating.

You'd walk past them in the way.

So getting to go to work every day and see people like JC, love him by the way, was cool.

Like you're pinching yourself and just some of the heavyweights of the industry like Hilary and Mike and obviously Hamish McKay.

I still talk to Hamish these days and talk a bit of code.

So I was really lucky to have that opportunity
