I noticed this trend where really good players, including the best pitcher on my son's summer ball team, who's up to 90 miles an hour and has a 2,900 RPM slider and is just a dog out there, admitted as a junior to a junior college.
And I was like, what?
Like, what's he doing?
Junior college, really?
And it got me looking into it and
Let me tell you, man, there is some incredible talent in junior college baseball.
And one thing that I have noticed, there are quite a few Canadian kids playing JUCO baseball in the United States.
I just love that there is an outlet for high-level competition when the things that a child cannot control, such as where does he live or what sort of exposure does he have ultimately,
It could be impediments to him continuing playing.
And the fact that Juco teams.
that they prioritize the talent that's been passed over by Division I schools and have been doing an incredible job.
You know, the Johnson County Community College team that I did the most recent podcast episode about has 20 kids, 20-plus kids going to D1 schools.
And that's not like low-level D1s either.
We're talking like hour four where they're going to play.
And this JCCC team is unbelievable.
You know, I think ESPN Plus and ESPN
Canada probably has different restrictions.
But if you happen to have ESPN Plus for some reason, I believe the JC World Series will be streaming tonight, and you can watch Johnson County Community College.
They are a riot to watch, a team that has hit more home runs than any college team in history, regardless of level.
