Before that, last week when I was on the LMA call with all the managers, that was last Thursday I think, it was muted that Coventry would be promoted and I think Coventry would have got automatics.
They were seven points clear of us, five clear of Rotherham with a game in hand.
They'd lost three all season.
They were probably going to get the automatics.
So I don't think anyone's got it great with Coventry going up.
They've been a good side all season and Mark's done a great job.
But I think after that, I think we all felt it was open.
And the discussion on the Thursday was they were going to Ipswich, Sunderland, I think Peterborough, Gillingham, Doncaster were after.
us those who were in the in the top zone so the four that were in there and those four having a a quarterfinal stage of a playoff and two promotion places at stake instead of the the normal one which obviously made no sense to us but but obviously they were trying to extend the season so I totally get it I get as I say I've been a player myself I've I've
I've had those self-interests and I do think there's an opportunistic approach, certainly from the clubs at the bottom of the Premier League.
Six of them not wanting to resume the season so they could stay in the Prem.
And then when they find out it's going to be a points per game, the teams that are in the bottom three obviously now want to play because they want to be out of it, don't want to get relegated.
And anyone with a promotion or relegation in the Championship, League 1 and League 2,
I understand League 2 stopping Gary because obviously the finance there is not as strong as what it is in other divisions for a lot of the clubs but we're in the same hole you know League 1's in the same problem you know we've had a club go bust in Bury this year we have Bolton in a minus points deficit you know we haven't got millions and millions of pounds to spend down here I've seen Rick Paddy saying there's going to be a 200 million pound hole in the finances of our division Damien Collins has come out last night and said what he said so I
it's not a straightforward time for everybody and i think we all have to pull together and make sure that we get first and foremost all the clubs through in a safe manner and if that means i think some of the bigger boys or government helping some of the smaller clubs i think we must do that because they're so vital to the local communities as as we've seen with berry nobody wants to see a berry situation and we could have 10 12 15 of them and
The sense of community in our country is already at breaking point as we've seen with this crisis and the last thing we want to do is lose these communities because they mean so much to a lot of people.
That is what we want to do guys.
Will you vote for it though?
I don't know.
I won't vote, you see.
