We haven't got...
And the budget of some of these big clubs, you know, Ipswich, Sunderland, you know, our budget's three million quid and theirs is, you know, 12, 13, 14, 15.
You know, in a normal foot and we wouldn't normally have a chance.
So we're right in the mix this year.
And I think it's right that we get a chance to attempt to go up because we've earned it.
So, so much.
I look back and as a player, you think you know an awful lot as a player and you're very, very opinionated and I was certainly in that category.
Same with the two lads who were sitting with you.
You come out of it and you come to the other side and into the coaching side and you realise that
just how much time and effort goes in, but also how difficult it is.
And you do have a real appreciation of managers who are in the job for a long time because it's such a volatile industry and
You know, as a player, you can be, if you've played well and the team haven't particularly played well, you know, you can sometimes go, you know, you can go home and eat your dinner on a Sunday and feel like you've deserved it.
But as a manager, if you haven't won on a Saturday, that's a lonely 24, 48 hours so you can get back in the building and put things right.
And I think for me as a player, you know, you have a lot of self-interest as a player and as a manager, you know, you're in a role of service and it is about the players.
And, you know, that's been my learning experience
the last two years is you've got to do the right thing by the players and make sure that they're as comfortable as they can to excel in their profession.
um we've got a good group of lads athlete i'm very very fortunate i've got a good staff around me got a good owner um and it's made the transition from playing to managing uh very very straightforward there's been some bumps in the road as you'd expect and there's been times where you think can i do this do i have the skill set for it am i um made made for this um but after that first six months you know when you realize
you can do it and if you delegate and you're open to learning and you're humble and gracious in defeat and victory that you can have a career in this job and I've really enjoyed it the best thing to do as a young man is play football there's nothing better and I'm very very fortunate that the second best thing I think is to stay in the game whether it's in a coaching space or a management space
or a pundit space.
Joey, you just mentioned, sorry, Joey, you just mentioned about being opinionated as a player.
