And the former DUP leader replied, no.

Mr. Donaldson was charged with raping Witness B when she was a child.

He said it didn't take place.

He said in response to questions from his defence barrister, he said, Mr. Vaughan then asked him, no doubt in your mind at all?

And he said, none whatsoever.

Witness B also said there was two parts to her allegations.

And she says that later when she was a teenager, she was alone in a room and Mr. Donaldson pulled her top up and felt her breasts.

She said that this was witnessed by Eleanor Donaldson, who came to the door, looked into the room and then walked away saying nothing.

And he then said in response to those allegations, I have to say, Mr. Bond, the idea that I was standing in a room with a child with her clothes pulled up and feeling her chest and my wife walked in and saw this and walked away.

He said she would have been very angry.

She would have intervened immediately, he said.

And then he added that nothing that I would have done could have been misconstrued.

We again heard about Witness B being sent to the Christian Family Centre in Armoy.

This is that centre owned by the Hoyes, during which Witness B said when she was older, that as part of that, that Mr Donaldson visited that centre and he apologised to her.

Mr Vaughan asked him, was he apologising for the alleged abuse?

And he said no, because there had been no abuse.

That wasn't the nature of the meeting.

Nothing was put to me that suggested anything of that nature.

And he said that he had remained in contact with Witness B many times over the years.

And there was a point where he did become emotional.
