Now, of course, now that there's legal gambling
across the United States and sports betting apps that has made it a lot more doable that there are pro sports teams out here.
So then you got, you know, the Las Vegas Aces when they moved here from Texas and then the Vegas Golden Knights and then obviously the Raiders and the A's.
It is very mixed and more leaning towards that, like,
People aren't necessarily going to automatically become A's fans here just because there is a team.
First of all, the ballpark is going to be on the strip.
The thing about locals is that you do not go to the strip unless you have a reason to, and an A's game is not necessarily going to be a reason to, especially when, like,
In the last 15 years, parking used to be free on the Strip, and now you have to pay, like, $50, $60, and that's just, like, a deal-breaker for locals.
And that's why, like, I've also thought that, like, it's not going to be an issue with aviators being out in the suburbs and then the A's out in the Strip because you get free parking in the suburbs and you can go see professional baseball.
So I see it for...
as like a tourist destination for people because
The other thing is in Las Vegas is that the AAA team used to be affiliated with the San Diego Padres and then the Los Angeles Dodgers.
And there are a lot of Padres and Dodgers fans right here, mostly Dodgers.
And with them being the back-to-back World Series champions, they're not going to want to give up their fandom of the Dodgers to become A's fans.
They'll go to the Strip to go see the Dodgers in town, but it's not necessarily something where they're like, oh, yeah, I'm an A's fan now.
Most locals see it as like a way to be able to see their team in town without having to travel too far.
Totally the same.
No difference.
So one of the things that I just keep like
I just keep looking into everything that Manfred says and just kind of like taking a fine-tooth comb to it because there are a lot of things that go on that they'll just say.
