So I'm very interested in women's baseball.
I've done research projects on women's baseball when I was still on like the statistics side of things and when I would do like prospect writing.
And it's a very exciting time in women's baseball, especially because this is such an international league.
I believe there's like,
um over 10 countries represented in the draft um so it's just more like a very exciting time for women's baseball and it does seem like there's going to be more opportunities for women to play baseball professionally um right now it's kind of like it's kind of neutral just because like
It's great that there are four teams to start with, New York, LA, Boston, San Francisco, but then they're playing in a neutral site in Springfield, Illinois, and that's not necessarily the easiest for a lot of people to get to.
But then you have stars like Denae Benitez, Ashley Lindell, Monet Davis, Kelsey Whitmore, and they're all going to be playing for different teams there.
And then you get to see legendary pitchers like Ayami Sato.
So it's
It's exciting because you get to see these legends and up-and-coming legends playing professional baseball, but it still kind of has a lot of questions remaining of the funding of the league because players are only getting paid $300 to $500 per game
Um, team salaries are capped at $95,000.
Um, and for a while they had, um, job listings for unpaid part-time internships, but you would be like a clubhouse manager or stadium operations.
So there's still a lot of question marks coming up with those things.
Thanks for having me on.
