F-15E was shot down late Thursday night while it was still dark before the sun rose on Friday morning in Iran.

officials tell me there was enemy fire during the rescue of

one of the two F-15E crew members, and there is a very risky search and rescue operation still ongoing right now.

Video from Iran appears to show one of the American rescue helicopters being hit by enemy fire, black smoke coming off of its tail.

An F-15E Strike Eagle has a pilot and a weapons systems operator on board.

It is the workhorse of the Air Force.

Kayleigh, it's not clear the condition of that crew member who was rescued.

We have seen the harrowing images of the wreckage from the F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet, which was shot down in the Khuzestan province.

This is one of 31 provinces.

It's a remote area that is in southwestern Iran, sort of along the Iraqi border.

But the Zagros Mountains go through this area.

It is a remote region.

And we understand that the search and rescue for that second crew member, the pilot, is underway.

And it is obviously of the utmost importance.

Those two crew members for the F-15E would have been given very serious SEER training.

That's survival and evasion training.

techniques to avoid being captured by the Iranians.

The Iranians have put out a reward for the captured pilot if the pilot could be captured and have doubled that reward since we first started reporting on this earlier this morning.
