They signed you to do it.

And then time after time, you just haven't been able to get back on the horse.

That being said, you still need him in a big way.

And to be fair, guys, if you look at his stats overall,

He's still been one of the best, I mean, one of the top two, top three relievers in this bullpen.

Louis Varlin has been obviously the best, but you're going to need him at some point.

And this bullpen is actually, guys, not that bad.

I mean, the numbers where they are, top eight in strikeouts per nine, just a tad above league average in ERA.

You're right at league average in hits per nine, just outside the top ten in WIPP.

It's there.

The DNA and the composition feels like it's there.

And once you get three, four guys going at the right time, Braden Fisher's been great the last week.

I think there's going to be an opportunity to get that continuity.

And once you do, now you start putting series wins together because you've got to lead after five.

You've got to lead after six.

You turn it over for nine outs, and you're John Schneider, and you feel great about where you are.

So as far as Hoffman goes,

man, it's got to be there at some point.

Maybe it's no longer the ninth inning.
