Maybe it is just the seventh or eighth, and that's his closing spot from here on out.
Because the way Varlin's pitching, guys, I don't know about you, I ain't moving him.
I mean, it's been pretty automatic right here in 2026.
So I'll just go off personal experience.
And it was really kind of altered.
I used to really like to have a flat ground each day.
And that was regardless if I had thrown back-to-back days, three days in a row.
I never wanted to lose feel of my changeup, okay?
So I was always a fastball changeup guy, a little bit of a slider.
And as long as I had fastball combio, I felt really good.
If I could roll out of bed with my eyes closed and do it, then I felt great.
I knew that when I got to the All-Star break, I wouldn't need as much.
So then I would start going every other day and just conserving bullets, if you will.
Because my rookie year, we went into Game 7 of the ALCS.
And you guys remember, you know, it's a truncated offseason, right?
Same thing with the Jays this year.
You go the max distance you can.
Offseason is the shortest it possibly can be.
And then you've got guys that had huge workloads last year that are now getting pressed into high appearances.
We had this happen in Cleveland a couple years ago.
