I mean, it's not, but one of them involves physically touching someone and one of them does not.

It's one thing to hit somebody.

If somebody comes up and sets off an air horn in your ear and you strike them, that's one thing.

So I think there are very distinct advantages to piston driven guns.

However, I also think it's really interesting that none of them have been able to dethrone the AR and the direct impingement.

We don't really see direct impingement and other systems.

Pretty much everything else is piston driven.

Like, yes, there are other direct impingement designs and you can even be a like super nerd and argue that the AR 15 is actually a piston driven gun.
