Jermaine?
Yeah, I mean, we were talking about how it's sometimes hard when you're playing five at the back, three boys in midfield, and I've been in there, obviously, and sometimes it's hard to find that balance with your wing-back and also the right-sided centre-back.
Who goes to their full-back?
Is it your wing-back, or do you have to go out there?
And a lot of the times, sometimes if the team's got a lot of possession, you can find yourself moving side to side, you know, just as a token gesture to try and plug the gaps, and you know you're not going to get there, but you have to do it.
And then it's about...
communication and having that relationship and the understanding with you with your wing back of who goes and who stays and I think there was there was times where we struggled with that at times but you know it's easier said than done I know you know you have a game plan you know you want to try and stop things you get out there and it's a completely different different story you're tired you don't know who's going to be pressing and that's when you have to regroup and I think there was times when we when we managed to regroup and get a hold of the game and as you said
These boys we're talking about, obviously, I was maybe not playing as well as them.
But if you're in a position where you're not playing as well as the other team, the other team's Spain, and you've created two great chances, the Rashford one and the Welbs one, where for me it's definitely a goal.
It's not a bad position for us to be in, I think, and we can definitely build on that tonight.
I mean, I know
from experience with the coaching staff, he wants those boys from midfield to make the runs in behind.
I think Jesse did that really well in the World Cup, making those runs where Trips finds him with that ball down the side and in behind.
That's a big, big role.
And then obviously you've got to try and find the pockets to turn and get balls off Stonesy and Harry and Hendo or whoever's holding there to find you.
And that's obviously always a challenge.
You've got to constantly move.
But then again tonight, I think they had the challenge of playing a really good side in Spain where the midfield moved the ball really well.
It can be hard to get a grip on the game.
And, you know, I think they didn't have as much possession as I know those two would have liked.
