Austin Matthews made his choice, seemingly putting the party and the president ahead of the playoffs.

Damn.

The Maple Leafs returned against Tampa last night in Florida.

They did lose, but Matthews, in that 4-2 loss, had an assist.

He was a plus one, couple shots on goal, block three shots, 10-5 on faceoffs, and led his team with 22 minutes and 54 seconds of ice time.

And they make it now.

I mean, you think about it, you've got an American captain in Toronto.

Good.
