Chapter 1: What fan mail does Boomer read on air?
It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. All right, now we're number three. Sorry I went a little late there in the final segment of the last hour. 808 Boomer and Geo from the Bill Ford Tough Studio on this Thursday morning. 888-808-1019 is the phone number.
You know, Jerry, how much we love our listeners and our viewers on the CBS Sports Network. Well, you know, last week, with all the moving going on around here the last couple of three, four weeks, and you missed some of this stuff because... You were out doing your Rutgers stuff. I mean, a number of people sent us a bunch of great things. So, first, I want to say thank you to Gary Lowe.
Gary is the one who sent us this Herb Brooks. Oh, cool. He's from Lowe's Sports, and he also sent all the guys that were on air these USA pullovers. So, these are pretty cool. So, Gary, thank you very much.
Except for the warm-up show. Yeah, I didn't get one. Did you get one, Al? No, we start at 5 a.m.
So, I'm sure Gary's listening right now.

Chapter 2: What memories are shared about Club Bene in Sayreville?
That's okay. What size are you, Al? Small? Probably medium.
Okay.
Oh, you're a medium? Yeah. And what size are you? Large. I'm sure Gary would have said you're a medium and a large.
And then Al Cintron on the overnight, Gordon Dahmer on the overnight.
What about you? I am not an on-air person.
You're talking right now, though.
You talk a lot. For not being on-air, you end up getting involved quite a bit.
So he was responsible for the statue as well? Yeah, yeah. He sent a bunch of stuff.
He's been involved with the 1980 Olympics and has a lot of licenses with them and everything else.

Chapter 3: What controversy surrounds Al's comments on the U.S. Men's hockey team?
It was great. And then also, he also sent me this, too. Remember we were talking about the Mike Ditka sweater we loved? So he also sent this. Look at this. This is the USA hockey sweater.
Hmm.
That is neat. That looks like a throwback. That is a throwback.
That looks like something out of 1980.
Yeah, so Gary was thinking about us. I appreciate it, Gary. And then I get this letter.
Like Christmas for Boomer.
It was. It was crazy. Box after box after box.
Yeah.
And then I got, you know, of course, I got the stuff from Cooper Electric, and they sent us a bunch of...

Chapter 4: What incident occurred on the Garden State Parkway?
milwaukee tools so it's pretty good so here's a guy he writes me a letter and at the end of it he says sorry but i had to ask is jerry that much of an argumentative combative guy or is it just an act for the show he disputes pretty much all of what you have to say that's not true you've got a ton of tolerance so don't rondo bene sent me this He did a- That is a gorgeous painting or drawing.
As a Bengal. That is very cool. So, Ron, thank you very much. Yeah, and Jerry can be a combative guy and can be a pain in the ass sometimes. I am not. Yes.
You said Benet. I wonder, is he from Jersey? I'm assuming- Does it say?
Well, he sent other stuff here. There's another part of this letter here that he called to ask Al. He assured me that it would not get lost in the mail, so he did call Al. Okay. So you know who this guy is, right?
Yeah.
I do recall talking to somebody about him being worried it would get lost in the mail.
And he also said by sending in this drawing and the other drawings that he had sent in to us, I hope I'm not coming across like that guy, Dan from Carteret.
Dan's a nice guy.

Chapter 5: What led to the end of Jerry's tenure as a Little League coach?
I get the feeling he's a pain in the ass to you guys. But anyway, I hope you like my drawing. And yes, I do like the drawing, and thank you very much.
I ask if he's from Jersey, because as Al will remember, I'm sure Eddie too, there was a very famous club back in the day. You might have even been there once or twice. The Club Binet on Route 35 in Lawrence Harbor? Yeah, I don't know.
I don't think so.
Sayerville? Sayerville. Sayerville, no. You were never there? Benet is an unusual name. That's why I wonder if he had any attachment to it.
And I'm hoping I'm saying it right. I think I am. How is it spelled? It's B-E-N-E. Yeah, I would say that's probably not right.
It's Ron Del Benet.

Chapter 6: What unpublished book did Jerry write about his coaching experience?
Okay. So back in the day, I mean, this is what a dweeb I was because I did love this radio station growing up. You're still a little bit of a dweeb. True. That is fair. When I started driving, the I Miss in the Morning show did a live show at the Club Binet that I went to. And for me, it was like one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Now, that place has since been knocked down.
But that was like, I don't know if it would be like, it wasn't as.
Well, for me, it would be like going to do something at OBI South over on Oak Beach Island. That would be. Like a nightclub. Yes. The greatest nightclub of all time. Now, this place, yes, Eddie?
I saw John Valvey there in the late 80s.
Who?
John Valvey. John Valvey? He's a comedian, kind of, you know, did songs and stuff, right?

Chapter 7: How do the hosts reflect on their past experiences in broadcasting?
Yeah, he's a classical pianist, but he sings all dirty songs. Oh, right up your alley. Oh, you probably love him, Al. Howard Stern did live shows at Club Binet back in the day.
I believe it. That's what he was just saying. No, I would just say I'm not Stern.
So that would, did you ever go see Stern there?
No, it was prior to me knowing who he was. Oh, okay. It was probably NBC or the very first... Because you wouldn't have lived far from there. No, definitely. Yeah, I saw Gilbert Godfrey there once. Oh, okay. So you were aware of it, too. And he made some type of joke about Jesus, and somebody in the crowd yelled... Enough with the Jesus joke.
And then he did 30 minutes of Jesus. Of course, man. You heckle a comedian, they're coming right back at you.

Chapter 8: What are the final thoughts on the impact of sports on personal lives?
That's all there is to it. Did you ever think what that's got to be like? So I know Seinfeld has dealt with it at times. And so Al turned me on to, what's his name?
God.
Kevin Nealon. So Kevin Nealon did this... His latest stand-up is on YouTube only. And very clean, no cursing. I thought very funny and had good moments. Some moments were kind of flat, but, you know, seemed like a very respectful crowd. I always wonder the...
star comedians that are not only taking shots at everybody and anybody, but also get the shots sent back at them, how they handle it on stage.
They kind of like it. They can use it within their stand-up, which is great if they're good at it.
I would think a lot of these stand-up things are somewhat scripted, but for a guy like Gilbert Gottfried, for what Al just said, if he changed on the fly and did 30 minutes of just Jesus jokes because he pissed that one guy off, I mean, that's a talent altogether that's just far and away superior.
Yeah, well, if you remember, you know, when they did that roast of me for the Friars Club? Oh, we remember. Right, so it got a little flat because some of the guys weren't really funny. Like, Craig was not funny at all. So they brought up Gilbert Gottfried, and he just started wailing away on people. And, yeah, he actually tried to save the show.
Anyway, finally, last thanks to Eric Schwager from Fanatics. He sent us a whole bunch of Fanatics goodies. Schwager. Schwager. I think Schwager. Yeah, that's what it looks like. Okay. Yeah, so we got a lot of stuff this past week.
So just to be clear.
