Yeah, you could buy it.
Oh, suddenly I'm in.
Exactly.
You love a hat.
And yeah, and there were cute little animals that you could have and you could do different activities.
And then you could explore parts of the world that they have.
You know, what's it called?
Miopia, I believe.
and so they had different areas you could go through which is like web-based you click through pages and they also had like they just have little battle domes where you could fight with your neopets they can have little battles of course no one died they just fainted because it's all kid friendly um so that was kind of uh the vibe now there's a lot more lore and information about neopets that you can find online if you're really interested but in a nutshell that's what it is and in 2024
There was a Kickstarter crowdfunding by Geekify to create the Neopets RPG, which I think we covered back in 2024, just to give context to what we're going to talk about and what we're talking about now.
And it was close to half a million dollars they raised.
It was over $425,000.
us dollars it was a 5e derived game so whilst when we did the news report if you recall when i was doing it we said there's a new pets game and they went it's 5e based and i went oh um because i feel there are better systems for it like because it's more about like care of animals and exploration there are i'm sure loads of games are coming to mind when people talk about that with animal games um but i digress
Yeah.
That's a reasonable, yeah, that's a reasonable parallel.
But yeah, so there is going to be an RPG of it.
However, it was 5e beta and it was quite combat focused, which, I mean, there is an element of Neopets, which the role playing game was, but there's an element of Neopets where you did have a little battle dome and fight, but that wasn't the main thrust of it.
It was about exploration and, you know, but anyway, fine.
And they released a combat-focused playtest adventure that involved torturing a group of drunk bandits.
This is what the article says.
