I remember I used to cross the border all the time because I lived in Florida at one point. I was bartending there and still trying to make shit happen in Toronto. And I had built a bit of a beautiful musical community in Toronto. So it felt like swimming in the deep end for hours in Florida sometimes trying to make headway. So I would go back and forth a lot.

And then the remix project happened and I begged my bar manager to let me back home to audition and shit. So anyways, it was a lot of back and forth. And even when I was at Remix, I was lucky that I was living off tips that I had made while I was bartending and being a bottle service girl. I had so many jobs. I was a personal trainer. I was a receptionist at a gym. I taught Zumba. I was a lot.
