The eight teams that just played this past weekend, they were in contention as long as it was a competitive game.

The Bears were in legitimate contention this year.

if it was a competitive game, you're in quasi-contention.

You get blown out in the wild card round, you were never in contention, which means the Steelers, by my definition, which I think is very reasonable, haven't been, quote, in contention in nearly a decade.
