He's there in his postgame talking about how it was an easy decision to go to the Dodgers because he wanted to win.

That tells you about how he feels about the state of the Mets after Juan Soto made a $765 million decision to hitch his wagon for the next 15 years to the Mets about winning in family.

You got Diaz talking about, I left because I wanted to win, and you've got Pete Alonso talking about home and family and the city and embracement and all that stuff that was supposed to be what Steve Cohen said

the Steve Cohen family, and the New York Mets were all about.

And right now you're trying to come to terms with that, and that's just the peripheral, and that's just the feelings.

Then you get to the actual baseball, and how do you replace Pete?

How do you replace the closer?

And right now, the only move they made so far is the move with Jorge Polanco on Saturday.

And look, I talk about this a lot on Saturday.

Polanco's a good player.

He has no experience at first base whatsoever.

But he's come up as a middle infielder.

He's played a lot of second.

Early in his career, he played a lot of short.

He could play all over the infield.

And I'm sure he could pick up first base.

And certainly with range and arm, he's going to be better than Alonso almost instantly.

But around the bag and scoops, I don't know.
