I think I hired him.
And this is in the early 2000s.
Jim Abel was one of the most influential guys, you know, in my career for me.
He was awesome.
He still is awesome.
On advice, it's ironic.
If I had to say what was the best business advice I got, it came from Jim.
And the reason was because, first of all, software businesses are HR.
They are HR businesses.
It's your biggest cost structure.
It's your biggest leverage of getting return.
It's all that matters.
And he was an awesome HR guy.
I was a terrible HR person.
Still am.
And he would just sit there and be like, let me explain why you're like the world's worst boss or manager or however, whatever category you wanted.
He did more to help educate me and grow me than anybody.
I could give you 20 stories.
