Lou Holtz, who restored greatness at Notre Dame and led the Irish to the national title in 1988, has died at 89 years old.
Holtz spent 33 years as a head coach at the college level, including stops at North Carolina State, Arkansas, Minnesota, and South Carolina.
but he was most known for his time in South Bend, where he had 100 wins over 11 seasons as head coach of the Irish.
Holtz instituted several traditions at Notre Dame.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will meet September 19th at the Sphere in Las Vegas, a fight that will be streamed on Netflix.
