But, you know, there's probably some legal reasons for some of this, too.
Apocalypse insurance.
Many see New Zealand as a safe, isolated haven for survival in the event of global disaster or collapse.
I mean, it is true.
COVID being one example, and without diving into COVID policy, New Zealand was a place that was able to keep it off the island for a while.
So it just is a stronghold.
And as far as billionaires preparing for it, they could be seeing something coming.
Or is it just one of those things where when you already have everything, why not hedge?
I think most people think they are doing the right thing even when they are doing something evil.
I don't think that.
Disagree with his ideas there.
It wasn't good.
Because, yeah, nothing is worth that.
But everyone thinks they're doing the right thing, which is why you need checks and balances on certain power because it cuts people down from centralizing too much power, which is both his point and the criticism of him.
Because I do feel like there's also this part that's just externally searching.
I'm the richest guy in the world.
I'm the most powerful guy in the world.
