As a reliever, you know, if he was strictly in the bullpen, you don't have that time.
You're kind of figuring it out when you're playing catch.
You're figuring it out in flat grounds.
Maybe you can get a little touch and feel.
off the mound before a game.
You're definitely not going to get a velo bullpen before a game because you might have to pitch.
So the Jays are allotting him that space to kind of figure some of this out and allow Pete Walker to work with them, allow the coaching staff, whatever they're seeing analytically, whatever they're seeing, you know, there's cameras everywhere.
They're going to be able to see
how the ball is coming out of his hand, what's changing, what's happening.
They're going to discuss those things with him.
I think this is where Pete is great.
I really liked him as a pitching coach.
He's one of those...
positive kind of positive pitcher pitching coaches he looks at the positive things that you are that you do well he asks you those questions he doesn't really look at the negative side what was it that worked for you last year what was it that's working when you feel this and kind of working towards those things and they got the whole team that's gonna you know on that side on that coaching side that's gonna be able to help him out but figuring it out
in between outings is a difficult thing to do, but at least he is given the opportunity.
Here's the day that you're working on it.
You're going to get two days and you're going to be back in the pen.
You're going to be doing whatever we're going to tell you to do, but at least you're getting the chance to work on it in between.
And I think not a lot of guys get that.
But I also can understand the frustrating side of it.
