I think my way works.

And the reality of the Patriot way is it was defined by one person.

I've never thought that Tom or Bill, the credit chart, but the reality is they were both interconnected because Tom allowed Bill to ride him like he was an undrafted free agent trying to make the practice squad.

which is not normal.

It doesn't mean that Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Donald don't get coached, but they don't get screamed at relentlessly, clearly like the way Tom was treated.

Because Tom was treated to set the tone for the rest of the team.

And he bought in, he took it on the chin until he couldn't take it anymore, and it worked.

Well, that's not college.

I remember at Fresno State,

During training camp, we would rent out a water park.

Yeah, a water park that had water slides.

We would cancel practice like a week before the season and grab a bunch of tri-tip sandwiches and Gatorade and spend hours there.

And most of the dudes on the team had the time of their life.

You know why?

Because they're 19 years old.

And if you do that in the NFL, they'd be like, can I just go home to see my wife?

Can I just go home to see my four-year-old?

College football is a different beast.

Also, when you factor in, none of these guys are under long-term contracts.

So when you sign a free agent or you draft a player, he can't just pick up and leave at the end of the season.
