They both appeared for the Circa Criminal Court in Limerick last Thursday.

after they both pleaded guilty to a vicious assault of two innocent men at the four-star Dunraven Arms Hotel in Adair in County Limerick on the 9th of November, 2023.

An Alison Chalk attacked John McHugh, who was 54, and Mr. McHugh's friend, Gerard Cox, who was 55.

These two men had no association with the Chalk siblings whatsoever, and they had been innocently socialising at the residence bar at the Dunraven Arms at around half past midnight on the night.

And they were basically set upon initially by Bill Chalk and then by both Bill Chalk and Alison Chalk.

The court heard that Bill and Alison Shock, they had been drinking there earlier on the day.

Their family, of course, owned a couple of pubs in the village.

And the court heard that both of them had consumed at least 14 alcoholic drinks between them.
