It's not just that we need America.
America is our indispensable ally.
And it is John.
And the Blair interview, the Blair essay was so fascinating.
I've been kind of reflecting on it and just listening to Wes Streeting there, who the day after the election in 2024, Tony Blair was having a conference.
Wes Streeting had been up all night.
He'd just been appointed health secretary.
And he turns up at Tony Blair's Tony Blair Institute conference.
That is how close they were.
And you can see that Tony Blair has caused kind of, you know, it's a fox in the hen coop.
And people are reacting to it and thinking,
Jeez, what are we going to do with all this stuff that he's just said?
And I think instinctively they have reacted against it, and I suspect only their thought that people probably would.
But I think he hopes, his calculation is that people will think, well, maybe there are points that he's making around welfare, around taxation, around the minimum wage, around the growth agenda that need to be taken seriously, not just by Labour, but by all parties.
I don't doubt that he's pissed off a huge number of people.
I thought the point about foreign affairs...
That was where he was at his most emphatic.
