That perspective and ability to adhere to that philosophy completely went out of the window for me.
And it's been almost two years and I have recovered that perspective.
But I still look back on that time as a bit of a failure to myself and to Ian.
John, your team has had success in this ballpark in the past.
You know, fans travel well here.
Just what are your expectations for these next two, potentially three games?
John?
Just to drill down, be a little more specific on a couple of questions I think Will and Joel had asked previously.
You were very successful in getting solid, good starters in your first year here and in Milwaukee, and that was tried again this time.
I'm wondering, obviously, a lot of money was spent on the offense.
Was there money left to do that, and you decided not to go?
You know, obviously, there were some star pitchers out there, Freed Burns, Crochet on the free agent market.
Then a bunch at the trade deadline, though none of them did move.
Is your philosophy changing?
Do you feel like you should be more bold or something along those lines?
Do you think that you would be more apt to... I know you considered Yamamoto or tried to get Yamamoto.
Would you be more interested in adding a definite number one type starter?
Are you going to look at that a little more seriously?
Do you think you could have been more aggressive there?
Or do you think perhaps you have to look at the scouting?
