It was literally like, just do that.
And so sports was obviously a big part of that.
And growing up in Midwest,
All you have are empty fields, and whatever season it is, that's the sport you play.
It was like baseball in the springtime, football in the fall.
The wintertime was hockey, but I couldn't afford all that gear, so it was just like whatever we could do.
And it was fun.
That was the big part of it.
Growing up as a boy, especially, all you have is energy.
You just want to run through a wall.
And so when I got into football in seventh and eighth grade, when I went to the school I ended up going to, that was the saving grace, dude.
End of the day, all this energy, you're like, let's go hit something, man.
Like it was fun and I was decent at it.
But I knew that, you know,
That's a choice, as you guys well know.
That's a commitment, man.
You gotta be in the weight room, you gotta be training, you gotta be fit, you gotta be ready to go.
And I was like, I think I just wanna be, I wanna do this other thing, which I know I can do at a high level.
I'd always gotten good feedback from people that were like, hey, man, you're kinda good at this.
And then it becomes, it's not, I mean, it is, I guess, a lot like football.
