So they're also corporate media, and they're also invested in profit, and they're also consolidating so that pretty soon we're all going to be working for the same one individual.

But the point is, it's not that they don't have the resources, it's that they don't apportion them in a way that...

strategically fights the corruption that you're talking about.

The scary point to me is, you know, you could say, uh, you know, great Britain has a much more responsible media and yet ultimately, uh,

your country ends up making the same stupid decisions we do.

So you begin to wonder, well, what is the, you know, what is the solution?

Let me end on this because hopefully it's a more hopeful, you know, Alistair, in your experience and looking around, where do you see green shoots?

a new, more robust defender of liberal democracy and the power that it should hold and the rule of law that can, again, create this kind of stability and prosperity?

Where are the green shoots in your mind?
