We have certain traditions.
We have traditions.
generally as a religious group and a religion and as a culture and attachment to the land of Israel.
As I said, it's been a fundamental part of Jewish prayer and thought forever.
So I'd say all those sorts of things.
But as a British Jew, I can tell you what my mission has always been is to be a good citizen of this country.
I think that's pretty typical among British Jews I know and grew up around.
to be like everyone else around me, to be a law-abiding citizen, to contribute to the country I live in, which I try to do all the time, whether it's in my street with my neighbours or whether it's in my work, more broadly, doing things like this.
It's to contribute and the Jewish contribution to humanity.
You know, we can talk about undue Jewish representation in certain areas of life, which is another question people always ask.
How come you're so overrepresented in politics or banking or the media?
How come Jews are so numerous in those fields when you're so small a portion of the world population?
it must be a conspiracy.
You must be controlling these things.
That must be what you're doing.
But the answer is actually that Jews just want to get on and do well on the whole, like everyone else.
They want to join in with their societies.
They want to contribute and have a good life for themselves.
So I would say that is my mission.
I don't know if it's a particularly Jewish one or British one or as a human one, but that for me is what I believe.
