I mean, sure, you were good in high school, but once you landed where you did in 2000... I lost my last high school game.
I remember, like, crying on a bus talking about how I didn't think I would be able to win the big game, you know, because my junior year...
Honestly, we were good enough to win state, and we did it.
And I think we kind of felt like we lacked a little bit of talent.
My senior year, we had a lot of those guys back.
We thought we were equally or just as good as we were the year before, and I lost and I pitched 10 innings in my final high school game at Olsen Field in College Station where the Aggies play.
And I remember on that bus thinking like – and maybe I learned something from that about like –
About like, okay, I don't ever want to feel this way again.
And maybe that's why maybe in those situations, like, man, I remember how that felt.
And, you know, letting your teammates down and doing all that.
And so maybe that prepared me.
Oh, man.
So I love this because now you go to 2003.
And so does that – when you're going through that –
Are you legitimately thinking about that?
No, but I think maybe in my subconscious, maybe I am.
Because you weren't that far out of high school.
No, I know.
I know, yeah.
I mean, shit, I look back at videos of that, and I'm like, I looked just like that when I was in high school.
