I mean, obviously, the whole inning, it was actually, I think I went back.
I mean, the pop time was outrageously good from Posada.
It's just, you know, Rivera wasn't super quick to the plate, and Doc got a great jump.
And then Bill Miller, who hit the home run against Rivera a few months earlier, got the base hit.
So, you know, you're piecing together how we're going to score a run here and keep the game going.
And it felt like there were some things that could happen, and they did.
Let's go back to Doc.
Well, I remember I was with the team...
We were in Anaheim right after the All-Star break, and obviously we had high expectations and we liked our team, but where are we vulnerable?
Where can we improve?
And really playing the Angels, kind of exposed where we were a little bit short, like defense, athleticism, base running, some things we need to do to be able to beat a team like that.
Shortly thereafter, we made the big trade, the Nomar trade.
So we get Orlando Cabrera, Doug Minkiewicz, and a separate trade, Dave Roberts.
So I think we brought some of that onto our team, like a little more defense athleticism, like a different way to win a game.
So that was some of the thought process of acquiring those three players and, you know, showed up.
You must have been because you made the trades, but... Yeah, I mean, ultimately Theo showed a lot of courage and conviction to make the trade.
We definitely felt it, and it's funny.
I mean, we played the Angels in the first round, but I think we felt like that team we just didn't match up that well against.
I mean, not...
to sort of push the Yankees to the side.
