Hello and welcome to another special episode of the Maths Funny Podcast where I'm going to be deep diving into the very confusing and kind of sad story of married at first sight's first gay couple in years, Chris and Sam.

After so much demand from viewers for the show to be more inclusive and represent the LGBTQ plus I community, this year we finally got our wish.

And as we first met Sam and Chris and watched them meet in front of each other for the first time, Australia was filled with so much hope.

and potential.

It really seemed like the experts had achieved the impossible.

A successful match.

That was quite good.

With sparks instantly flying as they shared their near identical vows.

And Chris and Sam both knew from the second they were asked to go on this show, their relationship was always going to be much bigger than them.

And as their wedding, which was filmed in Sydney's glorious Palm Beach...

aired at the start of Mardi Gras here in Australia, it really did feel like we were going to get the gay fairy tale we all so desperately wanted from these two handsome homosexuals.

But sadly though, and is often the case with this show, that didn't quite happen.

And what we're now watching on screen isn't the most accurate reflection of their relationship.

which is all going to start falling apart in next week's episodes.

And what's happened since they broke up and they've returned to real life, that's kind of sad.

Actually no, the whole thing from start to finish is quite sad, if I'm being honest with you.

The producers of this show genuinely had the potential to do something great here.

And not just for the two gay men they chose to get married, but for the queer community as a whole.

But they didn't.
