And again, it seems like there's nothing we can do, right?

The walls are closing in on us, but somehow the walls are also covered in butter, so nothing sticks.

But there are people who are really making moves beyond just talking points, beyond hashtags and ex-posts and press releases that get read once and filed in a drawer somewhere.

It's a group that is putting in real work.

And I have a funny suspicion that somewhere between now and November, 2028, they are going to be a much bigger player than they have been recently.

And I'm talking about the NAACP, the one that has been around since 1909 that survived Jim Crow.

It fought the people in the white bed sheets in court.

It paid for funerals and buried its members after lynchings.

It outlasted every president who ever stood in the way of black freedom and black progress.

Every single one.
