And she's like, Dr. Ed, I'm constipated.
And I was like, okay, well,
She's like, can I take anything to help with the constipation?
And I said, well, how about we do this?
Just gargle water aggressively for two to three minutes every hour until you go to bed.
It was like at 5 p.m.
And she's like, okay, I'll do that.
And all of a sudden I got a text, Dr. Red, I pooed.
But just by doing that, that stimulates the vagal nuclei and then stimulates blood flow to the gut and will help gut motility and all that stuff.
And it works.
Just gargling water aggressively for two or three minutes.
Some other things that you can do are like... That's crazy, by the way.
Yeah, it's cool stuff.
And when I say gargle aggressively, you want to gargle aggressively to the point that you produce tears because the salivatory nuclei is on the same part of the midbrain as the vagal nuclei.
And so you know if you're gargling aggressive enough that you produce tears, you know that you're stimulating the vagal nuclei, which is interesting.
Just water.
You just get water, gargle as aggressively as you can for two to three minutes, and there you go.
It stimulates the vagal nuclei.
