what they stood for or celebrating their life and I think that's what compelled me to make that last podcast and the video you may have seen on my socials of just Mel in her own words and again the things she had learned during the last couple of years which to circle back to my point sorry I went on a bit of a tangent there is the point of this podcast I'm trying to do now because
To me, I think if we can take anything positive from this just very sad situation, I think it's to kind of remember what Mel had been saying in those final interviews about how she didn't want to allow her cancer to just stop her while going through so much chemotherapy.
And she wanted to keep working.
She wanted to keep living each day.
She wanted to continue to keep doing the jobs that she loved and just not let the cancer stop her
Until she physically couldn't keep going and just keep living her life to the fullest she could.
And maybe that lust for life is something that we all need to be reminded of, like often.
And not just that, I suppose, but now also just this reminder of how short life can be, how cruel life can be and how quickly...
things can change and how often the things that we allow to consumers like work and silly dramas with our friends or partners are just trivial pointless things like overall they they just mean nothing like in the grand scheme of life they literally mean nothing and you know if you've got people around you that love you if you've got your health and if you've got food on the table then
you're doing pretty well in life and everything else is kind of just insignificant.
And those things which may feel like mountains quite often, overall, again, they just don't mean anything.
And when all of our final moments do come, which hopefully is a long way away, like,
those things we spent so much time stressing over that they're not even going to be a split second thought.
And maybe I'm being too much of a dreamer here and an idealist, like just saying, you know, it's easy to push all that aside because, of course, we still need to work and pay the bills and life happens, which does bring stress often.
But I don't know, next time we're letting our job or something stupid really get to us, I don't know, I think me personally, I will be stopping for a second and going like...
is this really that deep and does it really need to affect me like this?
Do I need to let it consume me like this?
Is it that important?
And I assume most of the time the answer will be it's not.
And then just going back to Mela, I suppose the other very important message she repeatedly shared over the last couple of years was listen to your body, take time out for yourself, prioritize yourself,
