How are you going to proceed with this information and how will you safeguard other people on set knowing this man now, as I said, has made violent threats to me and that is telling of his personality?
Like, can you imagine them then airing that confrontation when they know I'd literally sent them an email, like, have a screenshot, record, receipts, whatever, two days earlier being like, this man is making violent threats towards me.
What's saying you won't do that on set or become violent with other people?
Like, imagine that, especially after last season, which was just overshadowed by all this conversation around domestic violence and background checks and, like, safeguarding people.
So now circling back to the whole real life versus reality point, and my question earlier of, well, when does narrative become more important than the actual truth?
I'd say quite often, to be honest, especially going by this example.
If you're now wondering what the fallout for Beck, Brooke, and Gia has been like this week following the episode and the backlash that is still mounting, it appears it's been unprecedented, to be honest.
Brooke issued an apology statement last night saying how she's changed since then and she regrets it, blah, blah, blah.
Beck has come out and essentially blamed Gia and Brooke, distanced himself from both of them, said she only had an issue with Alyssa because she'd been apparently told that Alyssa had said her and Danny were fake.
And Gia, well, she's gone on the radio, pretty much taken no accountability and just blamed the producers.
And now for that question of, well, what are the real life ramifications going forward for their behavior?
I'm told that over the last week, Channel 9 have had to position security outside Brooke's house following like continued harassment from the press and now
so much public outrage and do I think like outrage from viewers should cross over into real life threats and fear or intimidation like that no that's not me trying to excuse their behavior or anything I just think you know there's a line in how we respond to shows like this and it transcending into someone especially a pregnant woman like being scared to leave a house like that
is too much in my opinion.
But do I think there should be consequences like completely?
And with that, I believe that Gia will likely cop it the most going forward in her job and future as a disability support worker will now be very much in question because in all honesty, like if she rocked up to any house in Australia for the foreseeable future to look after what, your disabled loved one, would you be okay with that?
Because I don't think anyone would be in the slightest.
She'd be like,
What the fuck?
Very similar to Olivia Fraser a couple of years ago, the backlash was so intense against her, like she couldn't return to teaching and still hasn't.
