Chapter 1: What incident was cut from the second dinner party?
Hello and welcome back to the Maths Money Podcast with me, Joshua Fox. And I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. In this episode, we're going to be talking about the other fight that was completely cut from the second dinner party, the real life ramifications that are now happening, and also real life versus reality.
As I raise the question, when does narrative become more important than the truth? Because what I'm going to get into today is only going to make you even angrier than you already are.
Brooke Yuck, capital Y, Gia Yuck, Beck Yuck. I'm absolutely disgusted watching tonight's dinner party.
I have never been more disgusted in a series or season of maths in my life.
Now, in part two of my podcast about the night that changed everything, I theorized that the second dinner party would feature a big moment of redemption for Chris, as like his big finale to his story arc on the show, where there'd be some big emotional music as he broke down or cried and realized the error of his ways.

Chapter 2: What are the real-life consequences for Brooke and Gia?
And we, the viewers, would then see that in contrast to Brooke being like next level mean girl. And we'd all go nuts. oh, he's not that bad after all, you know, he's just misunderstood. And did that happen? Pretty much exactly as I predicted.
When it's really mattered, you've done the right thing. That's what counts, Chris.
Just going to be, pull this guy, and then... F***ing cool. I know that I keep saying the word story arc on this podcast, but that is honestly how all reality television is structured. And every relationship on a show like Maths is not actually a relationship. It's a storyline, which means it needs to have a start. a middle and an ending.
And that big ending is often planned in advance and completely manufactured.
Chapter 3: How does reality TV manipulate narratives?
And in this case, this was the best ending for the Chris and Brooke story arc, which the producers knew, hence why they were so oddly vocal throughout that scene, you know, during the big moment of redemption.
Because I'm raising it, so I'm very conscious of not saying that to him.
they set the entire tone they said the things that would influence how the public think and feel during that and they basically crafted that whole scene which we didn't even see remember we just hid it they they could have recorded their quotes afterwards and you know what it worked it was the perfect ending and it also fitted the narrative that the show pushes every year and you know when most relationships fail and fall apart and no one's together
The experiment always kind of has this thing, but we help them change for the better. And now you can go into a new relationship in the real world, you know, equipped with all these things you've learned and it'll work and you'll be happy. which is just a positive spin to be like, hey, you know, you might not have found love. So we're not very good at our jobs.
And also the season may have been full of drama. But look, we did some good. But in this case, Chris hadn't changed in the slightest. His entire time on the show was what? Three weeks long, which call me naive, but that is not enough time in the slightest to change your entire personality, your entire views on women and the world, your morals and your perspective. Yeah.
And you know how I can say for certain that I don't think Chris has changed? Because of what they then cut from the episode after that little crying scene. In an interview with TV Week on Thursday, Alyssa revealed that Chris was actually just as vocal against her as his wife Brooke was at the table and the other girls.
But obviously they couldn't show us that on TV because that would ruin the ending. They just got of him crying, you know, as the new changed man. And this is her direct quote, word for word. That was one of the scariest days of my life. being attacked by five women that didn't even know me and being yelled at by Chris, slut shamed across the table. It was just disgusting.
My hands were sweaty and I was shaking. I kept myself together until I walked out the back and then I just broke down and fell to the floor.

Chapter 4: What did Chris's emotional scene reveal about his character?
In a second interview with Pedestrian, Alyssa also spoke about this with them and she said, this is a direct quote from her, Chris was yelling out absolutely atrocious things over the table. There was slut shaming going on. It was absolutely disgraceful. These things will not make it to air because it's just so inappropriate and so low, vicious and vile.
The article then says, as for why viewers never saw Chris yelling, Alyssa claimed some of the moments simply couldn't air because they were so graphic. It was a lot worse in real life. I can't even mention it. You saw the G-rated version on TV. And now if you're thinking, well, what happened with Chris? Like what went down there? What didn't we see?
Ali at the Daily Mail basically confirmed his involvement going at Alyssa in an article maybe a week or so ago, which most people have kind of forgotten or missed. And that article basically had a rundown of everything that happened during filming that day. And one subheading in that was how things nearly turned physical. And I'm just going to read that section of the article now.
While the brides did most of the screaming, the grooms were not exempt from the drama. According to multiple sources, tensions between David and Chris were keenly felt. What began as a heated verbal exchange quickly looked like it might turn physical, with both men standing up and moving towards each other. It was a near punch-on, an insider said. They were absolutely ready to go.
Producers were forced to step in, physically positioning themselves between the two men before things had a chance to turn violent. Several cast members were visibly shaken, with one source describing the moment as terrifying. That's when everyone realized how far this had gone, the source added.
Now for wider context, it's worth pointing out here that Ali at Daily Mail who wrote that, he is friends with Chris. And like, if you've seen his socials, he spent weeks now sharing like selfies and pictures of them together, interviews, socializing, whatever.
Therefore, I think it's fair to say that what he wrote would be pretty spot on and accurate as ultimately he could just ask Chris who can confirm or deny. And if you're now wondering, well, fuck me, that sounds hectic. Why wouldn't they air that on TV? In my opinion, that's for two reasons.
Firstly, showing Chris in that negative light acting just as bad as Brooke at their dinner party would mean the episode then ended with viewers pretty much hating them both equally. And his crying moment earlier was just pointless because the only ending to their story act then
It wouldn't be of redemption that would put the show in a somewhat positive light, as it implied it had positively changed, you know, one of their lives. But viewers would be sat at home going, well, these two people are as bad as each other. Why were they cast? What were they thinking? They are horrific.
