No fair. My body, my choice. Well, here's an alternative thought. Make your own dinner, Maga. Make your own sandwiches. Wipe your own tears. Troll amongst yourselves with Elon and leave us alone. You got your heart's desire, the president you dreamed of and worship instead of Jesus.
And this time you didn't even have to storm the Capitol, smash the windows or try to kill police officers or issue death threats to poll workers. See? You did it just by voting this time. Congrats. You got your way. And he even got away with breaking the law. Yay!
And...
Okay. We should not be surprised in this country that just reelected Donald Trump.
They're cool with it. If the victim is somebody that I don't like or the victim is someone who they feel deserves it, then a lot of times people are willing to justify violence. It's an unfortunate thing. It's a very American thing, right? I mean, we worship vigilante violence. We worship action heroes. We worship Charles Bronson and all these people who take it into their own hands. Al Capone.
Al Capone, you know, criminals and everything else like that. I think the sad part about this, frankly... is that I am not going to pretend that in a country that's been started and operated off of violence, that violence doesn't sometimes solve things.
My show had value. And... that i'm sorry that um that what i was doing had value and value and in the end i'm sorry i'm not i try not to cry on tv and i think this is kind of like being on tv so i apologize and that it kind of, and then it mattered. I see Karen is there and she's been texting me as well.
And so what I will just say is that in the end, thank you, where I land is that the moment of guilt that I felt that I went hard on so many issues, whether it was
the black lives matter issues of a young baby uh or a mom or a dad that was killed or um when we opened up people's eyes to the fact that asian americans were being targeted and not just black folks that or immigrants who've done nothing another racial country like my parents did and tried to make a life and defended them um or whether we've talked about
what the president is doing that is subversive to the Constitution, that is injurious to our liberty, you know, defending books that people find inconvenient, you know, that Nicole Hannah-Jones put into our spirit, that we need to understand 1619 as the real founding of this country, whether it's talking about any of these issues and yes, whether it's talking about Gaza and the fact that we as the American people have a right to object
to have a right to object to little babies being bombed. And where I come down on that is I'm not sorry. I am not sorry that I stood up for those things because those things are of God. And, you know, I'm a church girl too.
That what I was doing had value. No, it didn't. Had value. And in the end, I'm sorry, I try not to cry on TV. This is kind of like me on TV, so I apologize. And then it mattered. I see Karen is there and she's been texting me as well. And so what I will just say is that in the end, thank you, where I land is that
the moment of guilt that I felt that I went hard on so many issues, whether it was the Black Lives Matter issues of a young baby or a mom or a dad that was killed, or when we opened up people's eyes to the fact that Asian Americans were being targeted and not just Black folks.
Or went hard for immigrants who've done nothing but come to this country like my parents did and try to make a life and defended them. Or whether we've talked about what the president is doing that is subversive to the Constitution, that is injurious to our liberty, you know, defending immigrants.
Books that people find inconvenient, you know that Nicole Hannah-Jones put into our spirit that we need to understand 1619 as the real founding of this country whether it's talking about any of these issues and and yes, whether it's talking about Gaza and the fact that we as the American people have a right to object to
to have a right to object to little babies being bombed and and where i come down on that is i'm not sorry i am not sorry that i stood up for those those things because those things are of god um well first of all if 16 9 these people love to say 16 19.
In America, there's a thing about both white vigilantism and white tears, particularly male white tears.
Hold on. Let's stop this right now. Because that's what cameras are, right?
That's what Karen's are, right? They Karen out and then as soon as they get caught, bring the waterworks. White men can get away with that too. And it has the same effect. Even as the right tries to politicize the idea that masculinity is being robbed from American men by multiculturalism and wokeism, they still want to be able to have their tears.
Let me ask you this, because Democrats are in the minority, so you have only so much leverage. Have you all essentially made it clear to Mike Johnson that until they allow you all to subpoena big balls and the normalized Indian hate guy, at least subpoena them and or subpoena Elon Musk, no votes on the budget, no votes, no Democratic votes at all to keep the government open.
That is leverage Democrats have theoretically, right? Are you all prepared to use it?
Something a bit unexpected has happened following the murder. A reaction not of universal horror that a 50-year-old father of two and husband was shot dead in public, but rather of, and I don't want to call it glee, but let's just say not unhappiness.
especially online, where the Internet sleuths who often dedicate themselves to tracking down people accused of racist behavior in public places, criminals, including January 6 fugitives and more, have been actively refusing to help. Donald Trump Jr., son of our incoming ruler, went on his ex-Twitter page and did the patented Internet Do Your Thing post, and the reaction was mostly, yeah, no.
Other popular conservatives like Ben Shapiro and anti-woman zealot Matt Walsh saw their mentions go up in flames when they tried to attack quote-unquote evil liberals for celebrating the murder of a CEO, with some of their supporters replying that they had gotten it wrong.
Indeed, instead of universal condemnation, what we have seen and many of us have heard both on and offline has been a barrage of stories of Americans awful experiences with insurance companies. Stories of claims denied of people who've gotten sicker or even died because insurance companies like United refuse to pay claims. Let's just be clear.
There's a real hatred for these companies that is unfurling on social media right now and also in real life, too.
In the end, where I really land and where I've landed on today is just gratitude. Just pure gratitude. And gratitude, not just because people would take the time to get on a call like this or to take care of me. But also that my show had value. And that... I'm sorry. That what I was doing had value.
He's 19 years old. He's a high school graduate. He works at Doge. He has access to U.S. government systems. His professional and online history call into question whether he would even pass a background check, typically required to obtain security clearances. Security experts tell Wired he runs something called Tesla.sexy. which operates a Russian website.
He worked at a startup that hired convicted hackers. Someone using his Telegram handle solicited a cyber attack. And on his LinkedIn, and I apologize to the saints out there, and we know a lot of the saints listen to the show, he called himself Big B-A-L-L-S. I won't say the whole word, so I won't be vulgar. That's what he calls himself.
So big B-A-L-L-S has all of our social security data and maybe downloaded it, maybe didn't share it, maybe did.
Shout out to our amazing readers, our audience. I just love running into y'all in the airport, on these streets, and on social media. I could not love or appreciate you more. Thank you, thank you, thank you for holding us down almost five years. We are a toddler, and we out in these streets in this world, and we are not going to stop.
play cut 94 only the white christian men may have the things so you own everything that happens to your mixed status families and to your wives sisters and abuelas joy if you are black plus anything else you are black violent white nationalism that today threatens our national security do you notice there was no jive in that you know when she's reading the teleprompter she talks straight as you would say but oh when she gets canceled we out here in the streets
Play cut 95. We do have a fascist groundswell in parts of this country, mainly among white men. Let's be clear. I mean, you're also a white guy. Are you saying the we is white folks need more kids like Trump? Hitler was also viewed as a clown, a goon who would be who could be kept in line before your break to, you know, learn to accurately quote Adolf Hitler. Oh, it gets better.
There's a thing about both white vigilantism and white tears, particularly male white tears. Really white tears in general, because that's what cameras are, right? Over the past two weeks, which kind of feels like it's been two years, we have learned just how fragile our democracy is and how relatively easy it is for someone who's determined and really well-funded to steal and corrupt it. If you are going to write a playbook for how to steal a democracy in less than 20 days, it would sure look a lot like this.
Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
Hey, Charlie, can you hear me?
Yes. I live in the free state of Florida now. Yay. We were part of the mass exodus from New York state. And I worked in the public library system for about 10 years up there. And I came away from that believing that libraries are basically the pagan temples of our age. And my question is, what can we do about this?
I mean, they're taking our tax money and I know it's not just books, you know, they have, I helped plan events and, you know, you had to stay away from all anything that hinted of religion, but you can have meditation or yoga or Tai Chi or all sorts of Eastern weirdness. But you couldn't do anything Christian. And we were supposed to be apolitical in 2020 when the election was coming up.
And yet all the new books on the shelf were like anti-Trump, pro, you know, everything from Bernie and all that stuff. So what's your thoughts? Should we go to a private library system that's subscription only? I even wish I could start one.
Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
Yeah, I know.
But also that my show had value. And that... I'm sorry. That what I was doing... and value, and value.
The moment of guilt that I felt that I went hard on so many issues, whether it was the Black Lives Matter issues or went hard for immigrants who've done nothing but come to this country like my parents did, or whether we've talked about what the president is doing that is subversive to the constitution.

Why would conservatives think fact-checking is biased against them? I mean, what are you sharing if you keep getting fact-checked for false information? Think about it. What were conservatives sharing on Meta that was getting flagged so much? Are they spreading false information? And why were they so eager? And why are Republicans in general so eager to end the idea of fact checking?
What are they trying to share? What is the motivation for not wanting it to be fact checked?
My show had value, and that, I'm sorry, that what I was doing had value, had value. And in the end, I'm sorry, I try not to cry on TV, and this is kind of like being on TV, so I apologize. Donald Trump wants to never let black and brown folk up off the mat. Evident what they mean by DEI, right? Why don't you just say what you mean? He can't stand black people. We get it. You've been heard. If you are black plus anything else, you are black. Violent white nationalism that today threatens our national security.
We do have a fascist groundswell in parts of this country, mainly among white men, let's be clear. Make your own dinner, MAGA. Make your own sandwiches. Wipe your own tears. Similarities to what happened in Germany and what's happening now in America are just undeniable. Donald Trump is acting like a Nazi, talking like a Nazi, and now posting like a Nazi.
Like right when we're saying get in the oven anytime you made any benign comment on Twitter. Yes, Biden is aging. He shuffles when he walks and like forgets names and makes gaffes. But he's not incoherent. He can give us a prompter speech. Kamala Harris has passed the audition flawlessly. This has been, in many ways, a perfect campaign.
I got into Harvard and, OK, Yale, Vassar, and the University of Denver, too, because I had a really high GPA and fantastic SAT scores. Let me just be clear. I got into Harvard only because of affirmative action.
There's a thing about both white vigilantism and white tears, particularly male white tears. Really white tears in general, because that's what Karens are, right? They Karen out and then as soon as they get caught,
Good luck with that.
The Readout worked because everybody from the interns on up put their whole heart into it. Much love to everybody, everybody who made The Readout great. Shout out to our amazing readers, our audience. I just love running into y'all in the airport, on these streets, and on social media. I could not love or appreciate you more. Thank you, thank you, thank you for holding us down.
Almost five years, we are a toddler, and we out in these streets, in this world, and we are not gonna stop.
I think Fannie Wills is a hero. She is a national hero. MAGA could not prove an actual conflict of interest since there was none. But because America is always America, the victory for DA Fannie Willis also came with a scolding for a professional black woman about her judgment. There is something wonderfully poetic.
The first person to actually criminally prosecute Donald Trump is a black Harvard grad, the very kind of person that his former staff, the people who worked for him, Stephen Miller, et cetera, want to never be at Harvard again. law school, but he was. And a black woman is doing that same exact thing in Georgia. And a black woman forced you to pay $175 million fine.
Donald Trump is being held to account by the very multicultural, multiracial democracy that he's trying to dismantle. And for me, there's something poetic and actually wonderful. Go DEI. My DEIs are bringing it home.
We need somebody.
For a man who has tried to claim that he is not interested in retribution, Donald Trump sure has an odd way of showing it. Just this week, he settled a defamation suit against ABC News for $15 million based on anchor George Stephanopoulos using imprecise language to describe what a jury found that Donald Trump actually did to E.J. and Carol, namely sexual abuse and defamation.
J.D., thank you so much for being here. I have read so many think pieces about your book and seen so many interviews with you. I have the book right here. Can't wait to dive into it. But your story, first of all, is fascinating. So the way you went from sort of Rust Belt country to Yale. One of the things that's really fascinating about your story, J.D.,
is how similar some of the pathologies you talk about are to the pathologies that normally people assign to African-Americans, right? That, you know, these ideas about the way you're raised, you're raised mostly by your grandparents, the way that you were able to use opportunity like the military to get a college degree, that's very familiar across racial lines.
So why do you suppose there's such a huge gulf in distance ideologically between African-Americans and people from where you, like the ones you came from?
But in America, there's a thing about both white vigilantism and white tears, particularly male white tears. Really white tears in general, because that's what carrots are, right? They carrot out, and then as soon as they get caught, it's like... clean water works. Ron DeSantis has been waging a full-scale war against the Black past. It's illegal to make white people feel uncomfortable in Florida.
You also have the restrictions in schools over what can be taught about race and gender for fear white children might feel bad when they find out that not all white people in history were heroes. Do any of you guys trust Uncle Clarence? These Republicans are dangerous. They're dangerous to our national security because stoking that kind of soft white nationalism
eventually leads to the heart from the tea party on they're voting on race the idea that they can't get whatever job they want a black person got it therefore drive all the blacks out of the colleges just voting specifically on racial animus at this stage it isn't about economics they want to turn every state into their white christian nationalist hell it's defcon one y'all take action and stay woke
We've laid out the stakes in this crucial election where one side stands for freedom while the other meets the textbook definition of fascism, namely a far right dictatorial regime like Hitler's Germany. We still don't know for sure whether Donald Trump was hit by a bullet. For me, there is something wonderfully poetic
The first person to actually criminally prosecute Donald Trump is a black Harvard grad. And a black woman is doing that same exact thing in Georgia. Donald Trump is being held to account by the very multicultural, multiracial democracy that he's trying to dismantle. Go DEI, my DEIs are bringing it home. What he's telling his voters, his black Haitians are violent cannibals.
Black people are the enemy. Black people are gonna be responsible if and when I lose, and you are permitted, through my language, to do violence to them
They also have a tendency to blame the Biden administration. It's like, move on, that ship has sailed. I never remember in my lifetime a sitting president trashing a previous president. I've never heard that before. You never heard, you know, Ronald Reagan didn't do it. They're saying Ronald.
