And so Dave worked with the guy that lived upstairs at my mom and dad's house.

And he came to pick him up one night to go bowling and

He saw me outside washing my mother's car and thought I was cute, started trying to flirt with me while I didn't like him.

And he said, do you wanna wash my car when you're done with that one?

I said, if you wanna wash your car, car wash buddy, do it yourself.

And he said he knew right that moment I was the girl he was gonna marry.

And we had five dates.

And he asked me to marry him.

No way.

Five dates, and he asked me to marry him, and we've been married 59 years.

Wow, that's amazing.

Well, the thing was, when he prayed for a wife, he said, make it somebody that needs help.

And I was.

So it was, to me, it's almost like now, like,

It happened to somebody I used to know a long time ago.

You know, doesn't bother me to talk about it because God has delivered me.

And really, I can't even say now that I'm sorry it happened because I know that it's made me who I am.

Well, they've both gone on to be with the Lord, but my mother, I think, had always...

She didn't have the courage to do what she needed to do to help me or my brother.

I had one brother that was nine years younger than me.
